YACHTMASTER COASTAL POWER AND SAIL

The theory course consists of a six-day high-level course with written exams. The practical course consists of a five-day liveaboard power or sail course that teaches navigation skills. Participants in the theory course will gain a deep understanding of navigation, meteorology, and safety at sea. The liveaboard practical course provides an opportunity to apply these skills in a real-world setting while learning to operate a power or sailboat.

COURSE CONTENT:​​

  • International collision regulations

  • Navigational charts and publications

  • Dead reckoning and estimated positions

  • Position fixing

  • Tides and currents

  • Pilotage

  • Safety at sea

  • Meteorology

  • Ropework

  • Anchoring

  • Boat handling

  • Docking and Passage planning.

REQUIREMENTS: 

Coastal power or higher courses

*the theory course must be passed before enrolling in the practical liveaboard course.

Any of our partner schools may take them.

LIMITATIONS: 

24 Meters, 60 Miles from the coast

​

DURATION:

6 Days for sail, 5 days for power

​

MINIMUM AGE: From 18 years
